I am terrible at writing fight scenes…
I've hit a slump with The Land of Lost Things. I've finished the first full draft and decided that I wanted to add another character perspective that would dive right into the world more than Ana did—which meant adding and inserting about 17-20 chapters more. I wrote three chapters, and I had to stop at a chapter that required a fight scene. *groan*
I'm pausing writing more chapters for Malaya for this week. I need a break—there are 10 books coming for The Land of Lost Things series after all. (I would love to get tips on how to write fight scenes if you know any!)
I've decided to do some practice writing and finish Wedding For Sale just so I don't lose writing momentum. Anyway, I edited the earlier chapters (ie. I changed the name of the guy—Brad felt so douchey—to Hunter). And it spawned 3 other romance novellas, which I'm already outlining. I loved Nora Roberts and Judith McNaught, and I've been looking for contemporary romances that feel like 80s romance books. I've also been looking for romances where the characters don't turn psycho on the other. I also don't like the idea of one gender dominating the other. I want plain, realistic—to an extent, old-fashioned, egalitarian, and simple love stories about humans beings that I could believe could exist in the real world. I guess I'm vanilla that way. Or maybe I'm just getting old. LOL
I'll post the last four chapters this weekend and maybe the first chapter of A Dream of Spring (yes, inspired by that fantasy book, but you'll get why when you read it. It's in the same world as Hunter and Eve's). Also one more chapter for Malaya. Possibly a new short story entitled Weightless, too!
Tell me what you think of Hunter and Eve?
xoxo
