“Oh, you don’t need to wait that long. If she’s able to adjust to the pregnancy, the hormones would have less influence on her. Of course, you have to do your part and be supportive. If she says not to touch, then stop touching, idiot. Stop provoking her.” His disdain was there. The sight of Klyde being scolded like a child was fun to see.

Mel grinned and chuckled. “See, you should learn how to listen.”

Klyde looked at one to the other, defeated, “Fine. I’ll listen to you.”

“Great. Now keep your hands to yourself.”

“We just got married. Can’t I even hold your hand?”

Mel took a moment to assess her feelings. “The hand is fine. Just the hand.” She emphasized her statements, stressing each word.
