This is the third book about The Archer family of Bartonshire in the West Midlands of England in the mid-1120s, set during the reign of King Henry I, the youngest son of William the Conqueror. We find Robin, son of Sir William and Alwen Archer of the parish of Oaklea competing in the last and most prestigious archery tournament in the realm. Here he once more he finds himself tangling with the lovely but scheming Lady Elinor. Once again she is in need of his gentlemanly sense of chivalry as the Crown of the Kingdom of England and the Duchy of Normandy is under threat of a wicked plot. This time the Count Gervaise and the banker Rebecca are missing, feared taken, and Robin calls upon his family and friends to help foil a plot that could change the course of history.
