When creating a co-authorship book, the authors' roles are distributed as follows:
One book can’t have more than two co-authors.
Only Author-1 can edit, delete, and perform other actions with a co-authored book.
Author-2 has access to advanced reading statistics of a book.
Readers can see a co-authored book on the pages of both co-authors.
Both co-authors’ names are visible in the book feed and on the book’s page.
Submission and acceptance of co-authorship application
To submit an application for co-authorship, you must go to the My novels (My Works) section and click on the Co-authorship button. After that, the book search form will open. In this form, you must enter the ID of the book you wish to be the co-author of.
The book ID is the numbers at the end of the address line of the webpage of the book:
After that, you must use the Find button and the Submit button. A click on the button sends a request for co-authorship to Author-1.
Author-1 sees a request for co-authorship in the form of a standard notification from the Administration. This notification contains information about the book, the nickname of the applicant, and the button to either confirm or reject co-authorship.
Using those, Author-1 can either confirm or reject the application for co-authorship.
If Author-1 rejects co-authorship, Author-2 may re-apply. If Author-1 confirms co-authorship, the names of both co-authors become visible to users on the page of the co-authored book and in the feeds. The co-authored book is also visible on the pages of both authors.
Author-1 is the one who submits
In the event of a complaint from Author-1 about the unlawful filing of an application for co-authorship, the account of Author-2 may be blocked by the administration to clarify the circumstances.
After accepting the application for co-authorship, Author-1 will not be able to cancel it, change, or delete the co-author.application to start selling the book.
Booknet does not assume any obligations for the audit of co-authorship rights and does not act as an arbitrator in case of any quarrels between the co-authors. Responsibility for sent and accepted Applications for co-authorship lies solely with the authors.
Booknet daily advertises its authors through social media and major search engines. Our promotion materials include not only commercial authors but also those who do not sell their books on the site yet. If you noticed a drastic increase in the number of readers of one of your books, then it is likely that our advertising manager has included it in our promotion.
You can read more about advertising displays here:
Authors can arrange paid or free advertising through third-party resources, social media, or websites. We like to advise that in this case, it makes more sense to advertise the book among the readers of the book’s genre. Otherwise (with a wider sample), the percentage of people reading the book after clicking on the advertisement drops.
Important! Try to structure your advertisement in a way that leads the readers to the book’s page on Booknet, and not to the first page of the text of the book. Experience shows that the percentage of so-called "refusals" is noticeably higher when directed to the text page, and not the book’s page with the cover and the abstract.
Booknet’s blogs are intended to help authors communicate with their readers. Each of the author’s followers receives notification when a new entry in her or his blog appears. You can use blogs to make announcements, talk about your creative plans, schedule reader meetings, announce coupon giveaways, print book releases, and other events related to your work.
Blog entries can be created by users with "author" status.
Site blogs are not intended for:
- discussions of other electronic publishers and resources;
- announcements and descriptions of events, contests, and their publications on other online sites;
- direct discussion of other authors
- discussions of the site’s technical issues (there’s a feedback form for this purpose, please use it), moderation actions, and site administration;
All these topics are not interesting to readers, and blogs are created to connect the authors with them.
In the case these topics are discussed, the administration will limit your ability to create blogs for 7 days, in case of a repeated violation, this restriction will become permanent. The same goes for comments.
Dear writers! Blogs do not restrict you from reviewing other author’s books. But if these reviews become related to those authors’ personal traits, they can be deleted by the administration.
We offer our bookscription service to both published and unpublished writers. Only adults can open a paid bookscription. Bookscriptions are only open to works that haven’t been published elsewhere in full. Preference is given to unfinished works that the authors are working on at the moment. We want to note that "book by bookscription" is a novel that the author publishes gradually as and when they write it. On average, a bookscription lasts 2-3 months. As soon as the book is published in full, its bookscription period is over. After that, authors can sell the same novel as a complete book.
To open a bookscription, you need to publish at least one free book on Booknet. It has to be at least 240 thousand characters long, with spaces. In addition, you have to have at least 100 followers. After that, you can open a bookscription to your new story. To do that you need to send us an application by clicking on the appropriate button on your author page.
Bookscription open after individual consideration and the Administration reserves the right to refuse the author to open one.
If you have a paid subscription, then readers can freely read those parts of the book that you choose to publish for free. Your readers will have to pay once to read the rest of the text. Authors can make any number of parts of the subscription book free, but not more than 160 thousand characters with spaces. Authors will receive detailed subscription instructions after his or her application is accepted.
We constantly hold various literary contests with inspiring valuable prizes. Any author can submit his or her novel to the contest by accessing the contest page. Submitted works are moderated for compliance with the theme of the contest. Participating in contests always helps to attract new readers to the book.
Ask your readers to follow you (there’s a “Follow” button on every author’s page). Those readers who follow you will automatically receive notifications about your new book and blog updates.
