The park she had to cross was beyond the horizon, almost invisible in the evening gloom. With every step, Delia Asia Vieira felt the tension growing inside her. The fog, like a spider web, spread across the ground, and strange, almost inhuman sounds came from afar. As she approached its borders, a feeling of something incomprehensible, dangerous and completely alien came over her.
As she crossed the gate, Delia Asia Vieira felt her feet sink into the soft earth, as if she were stepping into the very center of a nightmare. Suddenly, as if on command, everything around her began to change. The walls of trees began to bend and grow into unimaginable shapes, and soon she realized that she was somewhere else - in another world, not belonging to reality.
The park before her now looked like a labyrinth of darkened forests, where terrifying creatures lurked. Eerie figures moved between the trees, their outlines blurred in the darkness. Delia Asia Vieira turned sharply, trying to find a way out, but with each passing second it became more and more difficult to stay on her feet - her world, familiar and ordinary, seemed distant and alien.
"What is this?" she whispered, feeling fear and panic take hold of her.
She grabbed the handle of the gun she had found in a trash can early in her walk. It was covered in dirt and rust, but luckily still in working order. Her fingers wrapped around it confidently, and she felt her heart beat faster, her anxiety growing with each step.
"This world can't be real," she thought, taking another step forward.
A figure stood in her way, a creature with eyes that glowed with fire. It stood before her as if guarding some secret. Its body was twisted, almost decomposed, with long claws ready to tear her apart.
"Who are you?" Delia Asia Vieira asked, holding her gun at the ready, her voice shaking with fear.
The creature didn't answer. It simply moved forward, its eyes glittering in the darkness.
Delia Asia Vieira took a few steps back, but her feet got stuck in the thick, swampy soil. The creature was already close. In an instant, it was right in front of her. Without wasting time, the robotess shot sharply in its direction.
A flash of fire pierced the silence of the night, and the creature, with a desperate cry, fell to the ground, its body beginning to dissolve, as if it had no substance. Delia Asia Vieira stood there, unable to believe what she had just done. The gun in her hand felt warm, but she knew now that the weapon would be her only ally.
"We need to move on," she whispered to herself, feeling the cold sweat running down her neck.
Engulfed in this new nightmare, Delia Asia Vieira moved on, not knowing what awaited her around each turn. Noise and strange rustlings filled the space around her, everything became more and more strange and dangerous. She heard echoes of some conversations, but she could not distinguish the words. The sound became louder, and the world around her became more and more distorted.
Suddenly, two more figures appeared in front of her, monsters that resembled slithering snakes, with jaws that opened, ready to swallow everything in their path. She didn't think twice. Taking quick aim, she fired, hitting one of the creatures, but the other was faster. It leaped towards her, and Delia Asia Vieira felt its claws dig into her clothes.
"Damn it, damn it!" she screamed, but the next moment she took a decisive step forward, firing into the darkness once more. The creature flinched, and her blow hit its target.
The remains of this world began to fade as the second being disintegrated. All sounds disappeared and the fog, which had seemed ominous and thick, began to dissipate.
Delia Asia Vieira soon realized that she had survived. She already knew what lay ahead. She knew that ahead was the fateful moment when her body would end up on the rails at great speed, rushing straight to her death. But this time, everything was different.
"I'm ready," she whispered under her breath, confident that her decision had been made.
She moved along the path, carefully approaching the structure of the roller coaster, until her steps brought her directly to the platform where the ride carriage stood. Behind her, through the noise and grinding, one of the carriages approached, filling the space with its heavy, threatening noise.
"Everything will be different," she said to herself.
Her thoughts were clear, her plan was simple: she would not let the machine do its job. She already knew what would happen next, but now she did not need to be afraid. She got into the carriage, as before, only this time her actions were not predictable.
As the carriage started moving, Delia Asia Vieira, as expected, saw the mechanism rolling straight towards her, approaching at incredible speed. Everything was as she remembered, but instead of sitting and waiting for her death, she made a decision. At the moment when the carriage climbed a steep incline, she quickly turned around, using all her strength and agility, and jumped off the rails.
"I made it!" she exhaled, finding herself at a safe distance from the oncoming carriage. It all happened so quickly that she barely had time to realize her success.
She stood on the side of the road, watching the roller coaster rush past her, then slam on the brakes for the next turn. The whole process was stress-free, because Delia Asia Vieira already knew how it would be – and her success was no accident.
Breathless from the effort, Delia Asia Vieira sat down on the ground and turned around, watching the carriage roll forward. At that moment, she felt the gaze of someone standing next to her.
"Are you... are you crazy?" a voice rang out. It was a young man standing at a distance. He was watching her intently, with frank surprise on his face.
"No," she answered calmly. "I just stopped being a victim of the situation."
