Omen 4: The Awringing

Antichrist in the Flesh

Gritting her teeth and overcoming the pain, Delia Asia Vieira began to make her way through the dark, damp corridors of the church, listening tensely to every sound. The dim candlelight flickered on the walls, casting strange shadows, and the silence was broken only by her footsteps. She knew that Lisa Roselli was somewhere here, and she was determined to end this nightmare once and for all.

But suddenly, turning a corner, she found herself in a spacious room, filled with old shelves of books. It was a library, hidden in the bowels of the church. In its center stood Alexander York, still dressed in his theatrical costume of a Roman legionary. His spear gleamed in the candlelight, and his eyes looked at the robotess with a warmth that was so out of place in this eerie place.

"Delia," he said, stepping forward. His voice was soft and somehow vulnerable. "I'm so glad you found your way here."

She tensed, sensing what was coming next.

"Why are you here, Alexander? I thought you supported Lisa and her crazy plans," she said, clenching her fists. Her gaze was cold and wary.

Alexander lowered his spear, as if trying to show that he was not going to attack. His face softened, and he took another step toward the robotess.

"Delia..." he hesitated for a moment, trying to find the words. "I didn't come here for Lisa. I'm here for you. I..." he trailed off, looking into her eyes with despair. "I have to ask. Will you marry me?"

His words came out of nowhere, like a bolt from the blue. Delia Asia Vieira froze in place, stunned by his request. She saw the genuine hope in his eyes, and it confused her.

"Alexander..." she swallowed, trying to find the right words. "You know that I..." She hesitated, not knowing how to explain the truth to him.

But he continued, not letting her get a word in:

"I love you, Delia! You're different, you're... special. With you, I feel alive, I feel like I can leave all this behind, start a new life."

He took another step forward, his eyes glittering in the dim light. But Delia Asia Vieira stepped back, raising a hand to stop him.

"You... don't know what you're saying, Alexander," her voice shook, but she tried to sound confident. "You don't love me, you love what you think of me. You don't even know who I really am.

Alexander frowned, his face contorted in pain.

"What do you mean? I know you better than anyone else. I've seen you struggle, I've seen you suffer. You're a real person, you're so alive..."

"No, Alexander, you are mistaken," the robotess clenched her teeth, her eyes filled with sadness. "I..." she sighed, realizing that she could no longer hide the truth. "I am not a person. I am a robot. I am just an artificial shell created by Robert. I have no soul, no real emotions."

Alexander froze, his spear almost falling out of his hands.

"What?.. No, you can't... You're kidding, right? This is some kind of trick!" His voice trembled, and despair flashed in his eyes. "You can feel it! I saw it!"

"Yes, I can imitate emotions, but that doesn't make me alive," the robotess continued, trying to remain calm, although her words hurt her no less than him. "I can't love you the way you want me to."

Alexander put his hands on his head as if trying to push away what he had heard. He looked broken.

"So all this time..." he muttered, lowering his head. "I was blind."

He looked up at the robotess, and his gaze flashed with anger mixed with pain.

"You should have told me sooner," he hissed. "You were just playing with my emotions!"

"I never tried to deceive you, Alexander," the robotess answered firmly. "But I can't be who you want me to be."

"Get out!" he suddenly shouted, his face contorted with rage. "Go away and don't come back! I don't want to see you again!"

With a heavy heart, Delia Asia Vieira turned and headed for the exit, leaving Alexander alone in the dark library, consumed by his grief and disappointment. Her footsteps echoed through the empty hallways of the church. She knew that an even more dangerous encounter with Lisa was ahead, but right now her mind was consumed with thoughts of how words could hurt more than any weapon.

"No one should love someone they don't fully understand," she thought as she left the library and walked deeper into the dark corridors that led to her final battle.

Delia Asia Vieira walked slowly down the dark hallway of the church. Her heart was heavy after her encounter with Alexander York. But she had to move on. She had to find Lisa Roselli and end this. Gathering her courage, she finally opened the massive doors and entered the central hall of the chapel.

Lisa Roselli stood at the altar at the end of the room, her figure bathed in the light that filtered through the stained glass windows. Her eyes sparkled like those of someone who had achieved their goal. Seeing robotess, Lisa smiled slightly.

"Ah," she said softly. "I knew you'd come."

Delia Asia Vieira came closer, her eyes sparkling with determination.

"I came to end this, Lisa," she said firmly. "Did you think you could destroy me, break my will? But you were wrong.

Lisa smiled wider and folded her arms across her chest, as if enjoying every word robotess said.

"Destroy you?" she asked, a hint of mockery in her voice. "No, I just wanted to awaken in you what you try so hard to hide. I wanted you to feel hatred... to bring you closer to Hell.

Delia Asia Vieira froze for a moment, her gaze turned cold, but she quickly regained her composure. She took a deep breath and came closer to Lisa.

"You wanted me to hate. You wanted me to lose myself in the darkness," Delia Asia Vieira said, her voice calm but with a steely certainty. "But you missed the point. Those who believe in hatred, those who build the world on hatred... will never be able to create a perfect world.

Lisa, hearing this, raised her eyebrows slightly. Her smile became more gloomy.
