Delia Asia Vieira felt the world around her disappear and she herself lose consciousness. She woke up on a cold park bench. Her eyes slowly adjusted to the light, and the world around her, which had recently seemed clear and real, was now blurry and alien. Something was wrong... Her head was foggy, as if her consciousness was still trying to find a foothold in reality.
She looked up and noticed that her hand was resting on an old, tattered ticket. Not remembering how she had gotten it, she carefully pulled it out of her pocket and looked at the faint writing.
"The Tempest. Shakespeare. Elegy Theatre. Tomorrow, 19:00."
Delia Asia Vieira took a few seconds to process what this meant. She rarely got tickets to plays, much less tickets to Shakespeare. But she had this strange feeling that she had to go.
"The Elegy Theatre... Tomorrow," she whispered under her breath, running the information through her head.
Why there? Why now?
She stood up, feeling a slight headache, and despite the strange uneasiness, her mind had already begun to move in another direction. Whatever this was—a strange occurrence or an omen—she decided she could not ignore it. The ticket was her only clue, and if anything in the world could take her to the solution, it was the theater.
As she walked to the theater, her steps became more confident, as if she was being guided by intuition, making each step part of something greater, something beyond her understanding. Delia Asia Vieira did not yet realize that the path to the theater would be the beginning of a journey that was not merely physical.
As she approached the theater, the building's façade seemed more majestic than she had expected. The Elegy Theater was an old, almost abandoned place, but there was something inviting about its majestic appearance, as if the building itself held secrets waiting to be revealed.
Delia Asia Vieira approached the doors and walked inside. The atmosphere of the theater was different: semi-darkness, the smell of old books and wood, and some invisible rustling, as if the walls themselves were telling stories.
"Tomorrow," she repeated to herself again. "But why should I be here now?"
Before she could look away, someone approached her. She turned around.
"Excuse me, are you looking for someone?" the woman asked, her voice pleasant and calm.
"I... just came to see," Delia Asia Vieira replied, feeling her excitement grow.
"Got it. Then this way," the woman pointed to a narrow staircase leading up, towards the box.
Delia Asia Vieira followed her, not understanding what exactly attracted her to this place. She did not know what was waiting for her behind these doors, but she felt that there must be something important here.
When she climbed into her box, the theater hall was empty. All the light was focused on the stage, where there was an ancient decoration, but not a single actor was visible. Everything was too quiet, too perfect for a place that was supposed to serve as a place for live action. It was as if the place was waiting for the performance to begin.
"Aren't you going to sit?" asked the woman, who disappeared behind the door.
Delia Asia Vieira looked at the empty seats in the box, but then her gaze was drawn back to the stage. She felt a strange pull, as if she herself were part of some mysterious spectacle.
She sat down in the chair, felt her body relax, and her gaze turned to the scenery. Barely audible, as if from afar, she heard a voice speaking in old English:
"The eclipse and the storm are coming. We who are lost, will we be saved?"
Delia Asia Vieira shuddered. As if these words were not just the text of a play. They resonated in her soul, as if they were addressed directly to her. She did not know why, but these words became more important to her than anything else.
"Storm..." she whispered.
Through the stages and the darkness, the theater seemed alive, but not as it had before. She realized that this play, this performance, was more than just a cultural event. It was the beginning of something bigger, something she would have to understand.
Suddenly the lights went out in the theater and silence fell upon her like a dark shroud. She couldn't understand what was happening, but her intuition told her that she was on the threshold of something incredible.
The world around her began to distort. The scene before her eyes blurred, and Delia Asia Vieira felt her mind being transported to another place. Her consciousness was anxiously searching for an explanation of what was happening.
"What is this? Why me?" Her thoughts were confused, but she knew one thing - all this was not accidental.
The door opened behind her and she saw a figure standing on the threshold of her new reality.
"Are you ready?" the voice asked.
Delia Asia Vieira couldn't answer with words, but her heart knew: yes, she was ready. And just as she was thinking about it, a footstep was heard from behind, and a woman, her shoes echoing on the wooden floor, approached her. Delia Asia Vieira turned around and saw Kate, one of the nurses she had accidentally met in the park earlier. Kate looked a little strange in the theater setting, her strict medical gown had been replaced by a light dress with a floral print, and she now looked like a completely different person.
"Oh, hi!" Kate said with a big smile. She looked like she was inspired by something. "I didn't realize you were here. Can I join you?"
Delia Asia Vieira tensed a little, but nodded.
"Of course. I... just came to look."
Kate sat down next to him and immediately, as if in jest, made a theatrical gesture, straightening her shoulders and speaking with a slight mockery:
"You know, I always wanted to be an actress. Can you imagine, I would play a role where the whole world depended on one look from me!" she theatrically closed her eyes and spread her arms, as if she were on stage. "And I would say, like, do you hear that noise? It's a storm! And it won't subside until..." she paused, bowed slightly, then abruptly opened her eyes and looked at robotess.
