She passed several rooms when she suddenly noticed an open door in one of the far corridors. Inside, it did not look like an ordinary office room: on the table and shelves lay piles of documents, many papers, letters, reports. Something about this place immediately struck her as strange.
"Is this another secret room?" Delia Asia Vieira muttered quietly as she approached the door.
She peered inside cautiously and saw two familiar figures - Doctor Warren and Nurse Kate. The doctor, as always, was wearing a white coat, with glasses on his nose, and Kate, with obvious irritation on her face, was standing at the table and sorting through some papers. It all looked too... secretive.
"Come on, don't waste your time. All these records are useless and you know it," Kate said, her voice sharp.
"We're doing everything we can," Dr. Warren replied, not looking up from his papers. "We have no other options. We can't let anyone know what's going on here."
"You don't understand, you haven't seen what I've seen!" Kate replied, her voice growing increasingly nervous. "These papers, these notes... they're only complicating things. We need to act quickly, before anyone starts asking questions!"
Delia Asia Vieira held her breath, pressing herself against the door. These words made her wary. What were they hiding? At this moment, Kate, clearly disappointed, stood up abruptly and headed for the exit, not noticing robotess.
"That's it, I'm leaving. This is impossible," she said, slamming the door loudly.
Dr. Warren looked up and noticed her.
"Kate, where are you going?" His voice was firm and he walked quickly towards the door. "We can't just leave everything halfway."
But Kate didn't turn around, walking out into the corridor with an expression on her face that left little doubt about her displeasure.
Delia Asia Vieira stood in the shadows, watching what was happening. Something about their behavior was too alarming. She decided to seize the moment. Quickly and silently, she entered the room before Dr. Warren noticed her.
"Doctor Warren?" she called to him, slowly approaching. "I think you need to answer a few questions for me."
The doctor turned around abruptly and froze, his eyes narrowing as if he had just realized that Delia Asia Vieira knew much more than he expected.
"You?" His voice turned cold, as if his entire calm demeanor had vanished in a second. "How did you end up here?"
Delia Asia Vieira stood calmly, showing no fear or doubt.
"I've been watching you," she said, watching the doctor's reaction. "I know something terrible is going on in this motel, and now I need to figure out how you're involved."
Dr. Warren stepped toward her, his face covered in mild irritation.
"You have to leave here," he said, his eyes flashing menacingly. "You don't know what you're looking for. You have no idea what you're dealing with. If you don't leave, I'll be forced to take action."
"Measures?" Delia Asia Vieira repeated, her voice calm but slightly ironic. "You are not the first person to threaten me. But I will still seek answers.
Dr. Warren walked toward the door, his face tense.
"I'm warning you," he said, grabbing the door handle. "You can't just walk into this. Get out before it's too late."
But before he could close the door, Delia Asia Vieira quickly walked inside and looked at the piles of papers. Everything around looked like it was a laboratory where they were collecting information about the people who were here.
"I have to find out the truth," she said, picking up one of the papers and quickly examining it. "These documents tell of many things. Of missing people. Of memory manipulation.
The doctor, seeing that she was continuing to search for answers, took a sharp step forward and closed the door on that side, not giving her the opportunity to leave.
"You're not leaving here," he said, his voice menacing. "You don't understand what this information does. It's all too dangerous."
Delia Asia Vieira did not back down. She met his gaze, her face unreadable.
"I understand what this information does, Doctor. And that's why I'm here. To find out what you're hiding."
Dr. Warren stepped closer to her, his face twisted in anger. He wasn't going to let her know something she shouldn't know.
"You're not leaving here until I say you can," he said, locking the door and coming closer.
At that moment, Delia Asia Vieira felt her heart beat faster. She was ready to fight for the truth, but now she needed to find a way to free herself.
"So you're going to keep me locked up?" she asked, not taking her eyes off his.
Dr. Warren did not answer, and Delia Asia Vieira, standing in the locked room, looked around the space around her - the furniture, the old documents on the tables, the shelves with books. But everything was too quiet, and not a single detail could distract her from the thought that she was locked here for a reason.
Dr. Warren had been in the room not long ago, and now she couldn't afford to stay here any longer. He had said that she wouldn't leave, that she wouldn't know the truth, but Delia Asia Vieira couldn't let him win. Her goal was clear: find the truth, find the keys to what was hidden, and not let them close it this time.
She walked to the window and looked out. It was grey and drizzly, and the bleak view only served to underline her sense of unease. But Delia wouldn't be herself if she gave in. She looked around the room again, and her gaze suddenly fell on the bathroom mirror. It was plain, not very large, but something about its reflection made her wary. As if it were hiding more than just its image.
"This could be a chance," she said quietly to herself as she walked up to the mirror.
She looked at it carefully, moving along its edges one by one, trying to understand what was hidden behind its surface. And then she felt it - a small, almost imperceptible vibration in the glass, as if it were slightly improbable. Delia Asia Vieira reached out and felt a thin, barely noticeable crack at the bottom of the mirror. A few quick movements - and the mirror moved away from the wall, revealing a hidden niche.
