After Delia Asia Vieira defeated Emily, her consciousness was consumed by darkness. When she came to, her first sensation was strange, as if she was still in a nightmare. Opening her eyes, she saw the white walls of a clinic, a light flickering above her head. She was in a room, on a metal bed. There were no sounds, no people around - only her own breathing.
"Where am I?" Her voice sounded muffled, like an echo in an empty room.
Delia Asia Vieira carefully rose from her bed, and her system generated a map of her current location. A clinic, but no data on how she got there. She noticed a small metal object on the floor—a key. It seemed like this key was more than just a random find. It was old, its surface covered in a thin layer of rust, but something about it suggested that it was more than just a part. Perhaps it was what she needed for the next step.
Delia Asia Vieira picked up the key, its weight was unexpectedly familiar. She felt that this object was supposed to lead her to something important. Leaving the clinic, she headed towards the city hall, knowing what was waiting for her there.
The town hall was quiet. Dim light fell from the high windows, and a strange sense of wariness enveloped her as she approached the massive door that hid the underground passages. The place seemed ancient, its walls steeped in history and some kind of evil that could be felt at every step.
"This isn't just a building," Delia Asia Vieira whispered. "They're hiding something here."
She inserted the key into the ancient lock. It turned with difficulty, but gave way. The door creaked open, and Delia Asia Vieira stepped into the darkness.
The dungeon was not what she expected. Instead of the usual corridors, it resembled an abandoned library. Books and ancient scrolls lined the shelves, and the air was heavy and musty, as if the whole place had been long forgotten. Delia Asia Vieira walked down the dark corridor, the faint light from her built-in sensors illuminating her path.
Suddenly, her gaze fell on something strange. In the corner, on a metal pedestal, lay a dagger. It was covered in a thin layer of dust, but the metal itself sparkled in the light, and something about it spoke of power. The handle of the dagger was decorated with an inscription that read "Megiddo."
Her hand was reaching for the dagger when her gaze fell on a portrait hanging on the wall nearby. The image was dark and eerie. It showed a man with cold eyes and an unnatural expression. It was Damien Thorn, the one the old legends said was the Antichrist, the son of Satan.
Delia Asia Vieira couldn't take her eyes off the portrait, but her attention was drawn to the book lying next to the dagger. She carefully picked it up and opened it to the first page. There were many notes written inside, but the main text was the one that initially shocked her.
"Damien Thorn, son of Satan and Antichrist," she read. "His true destiny is to destroy the world and rule it. Those who have met his gaze speak of a shadow that covers the soul, and an invisible pain that pierces the heart.
"Is... is this true?" Delia Asia Vieira whispered, turning the pages.
The book had details about Thorn's life, his past, how he was raised and how he was secretly groomed for a great purpose. Every step in his life was planned and everything he did was part of a plan to bring the world to destruction.
"It's all..." Delia Asia Vieira felt a cold wave of horror. "It's all connected."
She looked at the dagger again. A strange feeling told her that it could be not only a tool for destruction, but also a key.
"The key to what?" she muttered, looking away from the dagger. For a moment she thought she felt something in the air that she couldn't explain.
She suddenly remembered Willa Baylock's house and that this particular dagger could be the one that would open locked doors that she had never even thought about before. Many mysteries that she had experienced came to her mind and she felt that perhaps now was the moment to solve them all.
It was quiet in Willa Baylock's house, and the air in the rooms was so thick that even the smallest sounds seemed loud and alien. Delia Asia Vieira moved carefully, avoiding unnecessary steps, and headed straight for the hunting room. She knew that if this dagger really was a key, it should fit one of the ancient locks in the house.
Reaching the door of the hunting room, she stopped in front of a massive lock that looked like it hadn't seen the light of day in a long time. Inserting the dagger into the keyhole, she turned it. The lock clicked and the door opened.
The room was decorated with hunting trophies, wood paneling, and faded paintings. However, robotess's gaze was immediately drawn to a strange find in the corner - a small wooden box. She approached it, lifted the lid, and found a small silver key inside. There were also barely discernible markings on its surface.
"This must be it," Delia Asia Vieira whispered, intuitively sensing that this key was another important piece of the puzzle.
Taking the key, she left the hunting room again and headed for the stairs leading to the attic. As she walked past the gloomy corridors, she again felt the air growing heavier. When she reached the attic door, her hands automatically reached for the key. This moment was as if everything around her was thirsting for a solution.
Inserting the key into the lock, she turned it, and the door creaked open.
The attic was not what she expected. Unlike the rest of the house, it was unusually clean. There was an old desk in the corner with several folders of documents on it, and a bookcase with books against one wall. But what really caught her attention was what she saw next to the desk.
Richard, the familiar face she had seen in the photograph, stood in front of Sergeant Neff. Their conversation was quiet but tense, and Delia Asia Vieira crept up carefully to avoid being seen.
