Spotlight love

1) Accident

I'm sanding in front of mirrors on a pedestal. Straight brown hair, a heart face, thin eyebrows, blue eyes, an almond-shaped, Greek nose, and a lower upper lip.

In the background, it's heard my mother's voice:

-Let's go. Let's go.

I am wearing an asymmetrical dress with the upper part full of glued-on textile flowers and a big flower on one shoulder. That part is like a corset and the lower part is practically transparent, shiny and has a few flowers scattered.

-Like always, Genesis is the star of the night.

Says my best friend Genavieve with a smile.

Genavieve Smith, over the years, we have become inseparable. Her skin is somewhat dark due to her mixed genes, and her hair is black, while her eyes are sapphire.

-Thanks, Gena... What would I do without you?

I tell her, tilting my head, returning the smile, and grabbing her hand.

-Died...

Genavieve jokes, bulging her eyes.

In response, I just laughed, not letting go of her hand.

The last call is announced, and I go to my place.

It's my time to go out and close the show.

I do it, like always, with grace and professional elegance.

On the other side, it's him, my worst enemy.

-Michael Sutton.

I say irritated, inside.

Like always, we are putted against each other.

Knowing him is not enough, we need to always be together.

With the fact that our mothers are queens of the fashion world, we are always in the same places and carry on with their hatred and rivalry.

We are always called the most beautiful's of the industry, and because of that, we are always the finish line. Our mom's made us her stars from our childhood.

And I can't deny that Michael has his good parts... Almond-shaped dark eyes, wide eyebrows, a Greek nose, a heart face, black hair, a side parting, a slightly square beard, and thin lips.

He is dressed in a turquoise suit with a piece of cloth around it, from the chest down the back and hanging on one side.

With us, the show is over, and it is time to announce the winner.

-And the winner is...

Says the voice of the host.

-Stone Design.

It's my house that is announced as the winner, which is why the team jumps up with smiles and me with them, before I congratulate my mom by hugging her.

On the other side, my eyes lock with Michael's.

With the mood calmed down, mom came out to the front to receive the award and give the speech.

After that, everyone went their separate ways, leaving me to make my way to the dressing room with Genavieve.

-I can't believe the winner doesn't plan to go to the party the organizer prepared.

I half-complained to Genavieve.

-Your mom is not going to the party?

She asked directly.

-Yes. She said she was too tired and went home with dad.

-Well, you can't resent her. The woman worked day and night so that everything would be perfect and she would win.

-Yes, I know, and you're right. However, at least she could show up there.

-Well, who knows? Maybe she has her own at house.

She said this, laughing and nudging me.

-Oh, please, Genavieve!

I tell her, not even wanting to imagine....

-You are going?

Wanting to change the subject, I ask her, being convinced of her answer.

-Ah. I can't.

-What do you mean, you can't?

I asked, surprised and stopping my pace.

-I have to be at work early.

She answers me.

-UGH! Stupid work.

I say it angrily, tapping my foot on the floor.

-I know, I can't even stop for a drink.

Down, she says.

-What am I going to do there alone?

I ask because, being the future boss, it doesn't bring you many friends, especially when your position is privileged and when everyone knows they'll never have the closing...

-You know I would like to accompany you.

She said this before looking down at her watch.

-I have to leave now, I have to get up tomorrow, and I don't want to look bad.

-Yes, I'll call you tomorrow.

I tell her sadly.

-And I want every last detail of the night.

She says it, smiling, and I smile sadly, knowing she's doing it to cheer me up.

I arrive dressed in a designer top and shiny shorts.

As I get on, everything is alive: a sea of people, loud music and drinks with the canapés.

Sipping my drink, I stroll through the crowd, feeling like I should take my mother's place with every smiling face I greet.

It's my turn to thank those present and to toast. Right?

-I can do it.

I say to myself before climbing up on the chair to get everyone's attention.

-Hello, everyone. I want to thank you for your effort and dedication tonight. Without you, this wouldn't be possible...

-As you know, winning the Sutton Fashion is always the biggest focus for Stone Design, and that's why tonight we are missing a lot of us. All who didn't rest at night and even less during the day to make this possible, and that's why I ask you, let's have fun and for them.

-Cheers and congratulations.

After I take a sip, I get down.

After socializing through the night, I looked for a secluded place on the edge of the yacht.

Finding one like this at the end of the yacht, I look at the dark night, the sea, and the stars that surround us while the yacht is sailing....

-What is the winning star doing alone?

My peace is interrupted by the most obnoxious voice of all, Michael Sutton's.

I turn to where the voice came from, and he is standing there, wearing a dark blue shirt and white swimsuit with matching lines, and I ask him:

-And what are you doing here? This is a celebration for the winning house, not the losers.

-You are forgetting about Eloise.

Proudly, he answers.

-Aj.

I say it with disgust, lowering my head.

Eloise Pratt, the model at my house, my colleague, and his girlfriend.
