After losing his father and becoming an orphan, Abel, a young Frenchman, leaves his homeland in search of a new life in America. There, he is welcomed into the household of the Millery family, where he meets Abdón, a young man who has lived a sheltered and lonely life.

What begins as curiosity soon becomes fascination, and fascination turns into a love neither of them can easily deny.

But in a world governed by reputation, social expectations, and unforgiving ideas about morality, their affection must remain hidden.

Through stolen glances, secret meetings, letters, and whispered confessions, Abel and Abdón must decide whether love is worth risking everything they have.
