CHAPTER 64: The Washington Incident - Part XIV FINAL
Eden. Year Zero of Humanity.
The sun filtered through the branches of the Tree of Knowledge, its canopy spreading like a protective mantle over Adam and Eve, the first inhabitants of Eden. They sat on the soft grass, gazing at the shining golden apples hanging from the tree. The breeze was warm and gentle, but there was a restlessness in the air, a feeling that something else was lurking.
"It's beautiful," said Eve, breaking the silence as she pointed to the fruits with a slight gesture. "Haven't you ever wondered what they taste like?"
Adam shook his head, somewhat tense.
"God told us not to touch them. Don't even think about it, Eve."
Eva laughed softly, but before she could respond, a soft hiss resonated among the leaves. They both looked around, startled, and then they saw it.
The Serpent.
Its scaly body was black as the void, and its eyes, two reddish spheres, glowed with an almost hypnotic intensity. It slithered toward them with grace, coiling around the trunk of the tree.
"Why so tense, my dear children?" it said in a voice that was sweet and seductive, yet laden with dark power. "Aren't you curious about what has been denied to you?"
Adam frowned, instinctively placing an arm in front of Eve as protection.
"Go away. We don't want any trouble."
The serpent let out a hiss that sounded like laughter.
"Trouble..." it repeated with disdain. "I don't offer trouble. I offer gifts. Powers beyond your comprehension, gifts no mortal could dream of."
Eve looked at it, intrigued but cautious.
"What kind of gifts?"
The serpent's eyes glowed even more intensely as it drew closer.
"Adam... for you, an unmatched power. Strength, speed, senses beyond the human. You will be the supreme warrior, the protector of your kind. You will be able to transform into a majestic creature under the full moon."
Adam seemed fascinated for a moment, but soon recovered.
"That's not right... God forbade us from touching this fruit."
The serpent ignored his protest and turned to Eve.
"And you, Eve... the night will be your ally. I will give you the power of immortality, eternal beauty. You will live forever as a queen among men, with abilities that will make you both adored and feared."
Eve looked at Adam, uncertain.
"And what must we do in return?" she finally asked.
The serpent showed a twisted smile.
"Just one small thing. Eat one of these eternal apples, and the gifts will be yours."
Adam stood up, filled with anger.
"This is a trap! We won't fall for your games!"
Eve, however, seemed tempted. Her eyes were fixed on the shining fruit, and the serpent's words echoed in her mind.
"What if we can truly be something more?" she asked softly.
Adam looked at her, horrified.
"Eve, we can't..."
But before he could stop her, Eve took an apple and bit into it. An instant later, she offered the fruit to Adam, who, hesitating, finally gave in and bit into it as well.
The air grew heavy and dark. The serpent watched them, satisfied, as their bodies began to transform.
Adam fell to his knees as an indescribable power flowed through his veins. His body expanded, his muscles tensed, and a guttural howl escaped his throat as a pair of golden eyes shone intensely.
Eve, for her part, felt her skin grow cold and her heart stop beating. Her eyes took on a crimson hue, and her fangs elongated. A feeling of insatiable hunger arose within her, a hunger only blood could quench.
The serpent watched them with a sinister smile.
"My part of the bargain is fulfilled. Now... be what you were always meant to be."
With those words, the serpent disappeared, leaving behind a smell of sulfur. But then, a blinding light illuminated Eden, and a voice boomed from the heavens.
"YOU HAVE SINNED!"
It was God, His tone severe and full of sorrow.
"Adam, Eve... I gave you paradise, and yet you succumbed to temptation. For this act, you shall be banished from Eden. You will find rest neither in heaven nor in hell, and all your children will bear the mark of your choice: they will be abominations of humanity, creatures who will carry the curse of your sin."
Adam and Eve fell to the ground, begging for forgiveness, but God did not relent. With a final flash of light, Eden disappeared, and the two found themselves alone in a cold, desolate world, knowing that their choice had changed the course of humanity forever.
From the union of Adam and Eve, marked by the curse of Eden, nine abominations were born, the first aberrations to walk the Earth. Each was a distorted reflection of the blessings and curses their parents had received. They were creatures of immense power, with unique abilities and personalities ranging from human to monstrous. These nine abominations became the beginning of the supernatural races that would shape the myths and legends of future generations.
Over the millennia, the destructive nature of the abominations led them to turn on each other, devouring one another in an attempt to claim supremacy. The weaker ones quickly succumbed, leaving behind a legacy of destruction and myths that would fuel humanity's horror stories.
Of the nine, only a few remain active or dormant, hidden in the darkest corners of the Earth, while others faded away completely, leaving only their name and terror in the memories of those who knew them.
The fate of Eve's body remains a mystery. Some believe it disappeared along with her soul, while others maintain it is sealed away somewhere, waiting to be unearthed to unleash a new era of darkness.
Adam's body, however, was discovered relatively recently by scientists from Enid Corp. It was drained of its blood, rich in supernatural properties, to develop the lethal Über Lycan serum, which turned common werewolves into more powerful beasts, attempting to replicate the first werewolf.
