From Me, To You

Prologue

“There are always those thoughts that accompany me wherever I go.”
-Thalia, June 18th, 2016

My name is Thalia, my friends call me “Tali”, I’m 18 years old and I’m sick.

Surely you will wonder “so young?” Well, when I was 15 years old, I was diagnosed with Leukemia.

For a few months now, I have been in bed because my illness has not remitted, and you cannot imagine everything that has changed my life. I feel worse everyday; I don’t have energy to live. It hurts when I breathe and everytime I do it, it feels like is the last time.

I dropped out of school even though I was in my last year because it was impossible for me to continue struggling to live, I know that I will die soon. I have a few months to live, I know it, even if nobody tells me. But I do not want to leave without first leaving to everyone a piece of me, I want to leave all of the words that I have been keeping for myself.

It will be letters, each one to a special person, it will be my letters to them.

Come and write with me these letters before I leave this beautiful world. They will be the memories lived, the words that I never said and the people I loved…

With all the love in the world: Thalia.
