A New Rich

Mike went to the nearest lottery agency to see the winning number. He did not like gambling or anything related to it. He believed it was a waste of money and that companies were playing with people’s hope and illusions.
His friend, George, liked gambling believing he would become rich by those means. On Mike’s last birthday, George gave him a lottery ticket as a birthday present. He accepted the lottery ticket knowing that his friend had good intentions.
When he watched the monitor showing the winning numbers, his mouth dropped. “507832” appeared in big green letters. He checked twice his lottery ticket to verify that he was seeing well. To be completely sure, he asked the lottery employee that told Mike that he had won.
As soon as Mike arrived at his home, he called George and told him the good news. George was more excited than him as the prize literally made you rich. “Come to my apartment. We must celebrate!!!” said Mike and hung up.
George brought booze to cheer, and Mike bought the best meat in the city to cook a delicious dinner. Mike had never seen his friend so happy. He was also happy but still could not believe he had won the lottery.

'Cheers!!! To my friend!!!' shouted George and drank the fine red wine in one gulp.

'I would have never imagined this' said Mike and sipped his glass of wine.

'Hope you will remember me after you become rich' said George and went to the bathroom. Suddenly, Mike started to feel a strong pain on his chest and slowly started to crouch.

'George, call an ambulance!!! I don’t feel well' shouted Mike, but George did not pay attention to him. He picked up the keys from Mike’s apartment looking at his friend. Mike wanted to punch George, but the pain was so hard that he could not stand on his feet.

'Sorry, Mike, but money is the most important thing in life' said George who left the apartment and closed the door leaving Mike who finally fell to the floor.
