When Love Dies

Chapter 14

"Here's your ice cream. Strawberry is your favorite, isn't it?" Jason asked as he handed me my ice cream cup. We left the park after the picnic and I craved some ice cream, now here we are in an ice creamy shop, getting my favorite dessert in the world.

"Yes, how do you know that?" I took a huge scoop, the sweet frozen taste cooling mouth.

"I remember when we were kids and your mum would get us ice cream, you always requested for strawberry flavor. I kept that in mind." He explained.

Wow! Who would have thought that he would remember. I never knew what his favorite was and he remembered mine. I am such a terrible girlfriend.

"Whoa! I'm so impressed. Thanks. What's yours so I can always remember?" I inquired.

"I don't have a favorite flavour. Anything works for me." He said.
After that, we ate in silence only the voices of children in the ice cream shop could be heard. Something dry and soft, pressed against my right cheek and it took me only a moment to realize it was a serviette.

"What are you doing?" I asked after a moment, trying to take it off my face.

"Stay still. You've got ice cream around your lips." He gently moved my hand away.

I thought this was the moment where the guy gets to lick or kiss the ice cream off his girlfriend's face? Forgive my silly thoughts but this was a scene I read in almost all my braille romance  books. I just hope he doesn't see the huge blush I have already.

"I know what you're thinking. I would kiss the ice cream off your face but as tempting as it sounds, I can't do it. There are so many kids here and I know PDA is something they aren't supposed to learn yet." He whispered into my ears and the sound of his deep voice and his minty breath made my heart beat faster but I chuckled to cover it up.

"That's why we have a car to do what we want." He whispered again and when I felt him smirk, I shoved his face playfully while he laughed.

"Jason if you think I'm gonna just sit all day in your car making out with you, then you're deluded." I couldn't help but laugh as well.

"But wouldn't it be super cool if we made out for all the times we lost? I can't believe you aren't feeling the vibe, Cassiopeia." He faked being hurt and I laughed the more.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night." I retorted.

After our back and forth banter, we left the shop because it was already late. My phone indicated it was 8:45pm. I enjoyed myself so much, I lost track of time. I guess being with Jason always made my day.

He drove pretty fast, worried that my parents may not be happy for staying out late and also it was a school night. I needed to prepare for school the next day. We got to my home within few minutes and Jason parked but didn't help me out the car. I knew something was up.

"What's wrong?" I grew worried.

"When are you going to tell your parents about me, you know, being your boyfriend?" He asked, completely serious.

"I could tell them tonight if they're in. Are you alright?" I still knew something was up.

"I want to be the one to take you to school and back from now on." His confession made me smile.

"That's so sweet of you. How about I go in and tell them, then call you later?" I suggested.

"Great. I'll be waiting." He replied and I knew he was happy and nervous at the same time.

I slightly struggled to find the door handle and when I did, I opened the door and stepped a foot out of the car, ready to leave.

"Wait. Aren't you forgetting something?" Jason asked behind me.

"Oh sure, my cane. Please can you pass it to me?"

He did and I took hold of it.

"I think you're still forgetting something." He said again.

"My bag?" I remember he placed it at the back seat after we left the park. "Please can you help me get it?" I begged and he helped me.

"Thanks" I mumbled, sotto voce.

"Damn! Cassiopeia, you're still forgetting something." he said the third time.

What else was I forgetting to take in with me?

"I honestly don't know what I'm forgetting right now. Can you at least tell me what it is?" I suggested in a resigned voice and he sighed.

"Please get in properly and shut the car door." He instructed after the sigh.

I did as he said, clearly not understanding the reason behind it.

"So what am I for...?" I didn't finish my question before he pressed his lips against mine. I was startled but slowly gave in, kissing him with the same fervor as he kissed me. It was a kiss of longing and intense pleasure and I basked in the passion of it. My lips gave way for his tongue to slide in and oh goodness, it was the sweetest feeling ever. I couldn't get enough of it.

"You taste sweeter than ice cream." He stated after the heated kiss and I swooned, completely overwhelmed by all my emotions. He hugged me to him and I closed my eyes.

"I think I know what my favourite flavour of ice cream is." I heard him say under his breath.

"Tell me." I answered.

"Strawberry flavoured with a touch of your lips. That's my favorite any day, any time." He replied and I was on top of the world by his compliment.

"In that case, here's another scoop." I replied quickly kisssing him again. What was supposed to be a simple kiss turned into tug of war. An overwhelming battle of dominance. He seemed to take the lead and I followed. I was so lost in the pleasure of it all.

"I have to go. Its already late. I need to rest." But I wasn't ready to go. I kept repeating that mentally, perhaps saying that would make me brave enough to leave.

"I don't want you to go, but you have to. Take care of yourself and don't forget to let me know what your parents think about me, okay?"  I nodded and he told me to wait in the car while he got out and helped me out of the car. I held my bag and cane close to me as he walked me up to the door. He gave me a quick peck and left soon after.
