We accept fictional love novels. One of the characters has to be a wealthy or influential person. Events must take place in the present time or the recent past. No Fantasy or Supernatural elements can be included.
No novel will be accepted for participation if it has been started to publish before April 1 of 2020 anywhere on the Internet and has been published in full anywhere on the Internet before August 20 of 2020.
The novel may have mature content (you can find more information on this in the content guidelines of Booknet). The stories have to comply with Booknet's content guidelines.
We don't accept fanfiction or translations.
A novel's annotation must reflect clearly that its plot falls under our requirements above. If an annotation does not reflect guidelines compliance, then this novel will be disqualified by the moderators.
The finalists will be offered to sign a one-year agreement with Booknet to make their story exclusive on Booknet for one year. They will also receive $150. If a book is put behind the paywall by Booknet, the author will get a 70% royalty from sales.
By the end of the submission period, the participating stories have to be finished on Booknet. They have to be at least 200K characters long (around 45K words).
Before the announcement of the results, the author undertakes not to publish the work anywhere else (except samples with up to 5k words). Novels that violate this rule will be withdrawn from the contest.
The stories in the contest can be put behind the paywall if the author has commercial status on Booknet.
Don’t forget to attach the completed story to your email, so the jury will be able to read your book.
