The dark blue ink settles on the paper as if it were water finding its way through the earth. I’m here, in front of the old wooden table my grandmother left me, and I don’t really know how to start… but I know this has to come out of me, as if the magic I thought had left the world were beating again in every letter I write.
Adrián City isn’t a place you’ll find on any map. I looked for it once, in all the globes I could reach, on the screens of browsers that keep spinning like little rhombuses of light. But it isn’t there. It’s here, in my head, in the air I breathe when I close my eyes, in those moments when reality becomes a little softer, more malleable.
