"Finally!" Samantha said, hopping out of the car and stretching. "What movie are we even watching anyway?" Hunter asked, helping Melissa out of the car. "I don't know," Melissa said. "Oh, it's a rom-com. Gurl, you should know by now, I'm obsessed." Andrew said. "Yeah...." Melissa trailed off. Andrew did always like the cheesy rom-coms..... She thought to herself, making a face. "What are you doing?" Hunter asked, waving a hand in front of her face. "You have the face my sister makes when she gets an upset stomach." He said. Melissa blinked up at him. "Sorry, I was deep in thought." She said, following the gang as they went into the movie theatre. The smell of buttered popcorn practically smacked them in the face. "I want a slushie," Samantha said, rushing to the cashier girl. She looked a few years older than them and extremely bored. "Hello, can I have four tickets for the-" Samantha's voice went out of focus for a minute as Melissa stared at the girl. She had unnaturally long hair. Like, past the waist. "That'll be $109.87." The girl said, staring half-lidded at the cash register. Samantha turned and got out her wallet. Melissa shrugged. "She probably has eye contact issues or whatever." She told herself. "Okay guys, got the tickets and the popcorn!" Samantha said. "Wait! I want flavored butter salt!" Andrew said, pointing at the condiments table with all the special popcorn flavorings on it. "Oh, yes. I love that." Hunter said, smiling. Melissa raised an eyebrow. "Really?!" She asked. He turned back to her. "Uh, yeah? Why's it so shocking?" He asked, giving a half laugh. "I don't know. You always give off mysterious vibes, so when you act...normal it's just...weird?" Melissa said, shrugging. Hunter rolled his eyes. "You're the weird one." He said as they all walked to the cinema room. "Besides, I'm totally normal. What's so mysterious?" He said, practically pushing a handful of popcorn into his mouth. Melissa stared at him. "Uh, yeah, okay. You're definitely normal. Almost all guys I've known eat like that." She said making a face. "I don't know, your friend Samantha kina eats like that too." He said whispering. "Oh, I know. You should see her wat pizza rolls..." Melissa said smiling, staring at her and Andrew walk ahead of them. "I love those guys." She said fondly. "What, you don't love me?" Hunter joked. Melissa blinked, shocked. "Uh, I guess you're alright." She said, face going a bit pink. "I'm offended!" He said in some sort of mock accent. "Okay, okay. To the seats." She said. They picked a couple of good seats near the middle rows and sat down.
During the middle of the movie, Melissa had to go to the bathroom....bad. "Tell me what happens!" She whispers yelled to her friends as she got up and headed for the door to the theatre lobby. The sudden change in the light made her eyes hurt. She blinked and quickly rushed to the bathroom door. After she was done, she ran into someone on her way back. "Oops. Sorry." She said, trying to walk around the woman she bumped into. "It's fine. Actually, can you help me for a second?" The woman asked, taking off her sunglasses. She had very intense brown eyes. Melissa thought she looked familiar. "Where have I seen her before?" She thought. "You see, I'm looking for my son. He ran off without telling me where he would go." The woman said. Melissa's feet felt cold, and her mouth dry. "He hangs out with a girl around your age. She's got dark brown hair, brown eyes, and lots of freckles." She said, her voice slowly losing its friendliness. Melissa's eyes widened as realization dawned on her. The woman smiled. "Can you tell me who that could be?" She asked.
