Mahi was too naive to not understand that anyone meant anyone, including the person who she thought she had loved and had been with for a long time. She thought that he and their time together would both remain stagnantly loyal to her, waiting patiently for her return. But five years is an incredibly long time, half a decade. A lot can change during then, and the same thing happened in her case when she came back only to find a store of surprises, some surprising and some extremely cruel, waiting in the shadows for her only to come out and take her wholly by surprise.
