The Vale is No. 1!

I am so excited! A book of mine has never been number one in anything before! And the fact it’s so small right now, only 10,000 words, 20 pages, that’s a huge deal.

Some background on this quirky story: I had the idea way back in elementary school, about what if boys and girls were totally separated and didn’t know the other side existed. The idea became increasingly difficult to expand on when I learned about the LGBT community, and while I believe my character Mr. Delecatessen is gay, I didn’t want this to be that kind of exploration. There are already lots of those. The idea got its start as a NaNoWriMo novel, with Cole and his bike route. I didn’t initially plan for him to have a kid, but little Jaimie Anderson has become the catalyst to shove my main character out of his comfort zone and into this adventure.

Who knows how far he’ll have to go to get his child back.
