The story should have a Romance storyline. Books with other supernatural creatures will not be accepted. Events may take place in the real or fictional world. LGBT+ novels can also participate.
No novel will be accepted for participation if it has been started to publish before September 1 of 2020 anywhere on the Internet and has been published in full anywhere on the Internet before November 10 of 2020.
The novel may have mature content (you can find more information on this in the content guidelines on Booknet). The stories have to comply with Booknet's content guideline.
We don't accept fanfiction or translations. All stories must be written originally in English. The contest is worldwide for authors over 16.
A novel's annotation (description) and tags (story about) must reflect clearly that its plot falls under the requirements above and there is a Fantasy or Paranormal creature in it. If an annotation (description) does not reflect guidelines compliance, then this novel will be disqualified by the moderators. Novel’s tags must contain the name of the creature that is going to be the main character of the story.
By the end of the submission period, the participating stories have to be finished on Booknet. They have to be at least 200K characters long (around 45K words).
Before the announcement of the results, the author undertakes not to publish their work anywhere else (except samples with up to 5K words). Novels that violate this rule will be withdrawn from the contest.
The stories in the contest can be put behind the paywall if the author has commercial status on Booknet.
