Why I published The Unrequited
I wasn't really affectionate when it comes to poetry until I turned 13. It all started when I was in 7th grade back in our English subject, when we had a project to write a tanaga. But as being one of the laziest in our classes, I waited until its deadline so I could be in rush. (I don't know about me but when I was in a rush, I get more creative) However, I ended up writing an "optimistic" poem describing how sad I was.
Right after writing my very first poem, I got inspired into writing more poems and at first, I struggled. I had struggled with my words, paragraphs, grammars, and spellings. In late November just before I turned 14, I had discovered "The Universe of Us" by Lang Leav. (Which I had read the whole book by one sit) Right after reading the whole book, I had decided to join the world of poetry. I had started writing on Wattpad which I had entitled my first poetry "Midnight Thoughts" but once I searched Midnight Thoughts on Wattpad, I saw a lot of results. It took me few weeks to think about some unique titles. I came from Midnight Thoughts to Thoughts of Poetry and jump into one another until I came up with the idea to give its title "The Unrequited."
The reason why I published The Unrequited is because I wanted to inspire others to write what they're feelings and thinking because in the world of poetry, you can write everything you want. I made The Unrequited a collection of different kind of genre for the reasons that I thought it was unique.
Me being as me, the word unique had been part of me. I could pretty much relate to it too because no matter how different I am to the point I was left out, being unique is another way to express who you really are.
