Thursdays The Proposal preview

Grayson gave the girl a smile. Her cheeks bloomed, being the target of that perfect pearly weapon of his. Several women before her had been a causality of it.  Amber certainly had and the billionaire knew exactly how to fucking use it.  He’d left a trail of broken hearts across this city, if rumors were to be believed anyway.

Amber turned her dark blue gaze on him. Was he fucking flirting with the poor girl right now? Cori was a beautiful girl. Grayson was a beautiful boy. The stuff that wet dreams were made of. But according to Donny, Cori was also taken. But maybe they were into swinging or orgies. Maybe they were in an open relationship. The thought of Grayson having sex with Cori or anyone else didn’t sit well with Amber.

Thoughts of anyone tasting him or touching him, making love to him, made her heart beat in an angry way.  Amber knew she was being fucking irrational. Grayson wasn’t hers. He was free to fuck and love whomever he chose. But even telling herself this over and over did little to stop the way she felt about it.

Amber waited until Cori was occupied cleaning up the instruments used during Leo’s operation, before she called Grayson out on his behavior. Taking advantage of the girl’s fucking kindness and the emotional situation they were all in.

She cleared her throat loudly, “She has a boyfriend. Really Grayson. Leading that girl on with your thousand watt smile. Have you no shame?”

“What?” he asked, “They’ll be compensated generously money wise.  And I intend to talk to her about Leo’s health, nothing more. What the fuck did you think I was talking about? I don’t like what you’re insinuating Amber. But if I did have an interest in her, why would you care exactly?”

Amber groaned. He had a cocky look on his face she wanted to beat off him. He knew why. The bastard just wanted her to say it.

“Only because you still have a whole divorce to go through! A wife who wants to fucking kill you literally to get her hands on your inheritance.  Do you really want to pull some innocent girl into your fucked up shit right now?”

Grayson laughed, “Just admit you’re jealous and you don’t like the thought of me being with someone else and I’ll drop this matter for the time being.”

Amber straightened Leo’s covers to avoid looking at Grayson. To keep him from noticing the flush of her cheeks, not unlike Cori’s only moments ago. He was a cocky bastardy, but even more infuriating, was the truth behind his words.

“My your arrogance knows no fucking bounds Mr. Godwin. You’re free to enter a relationship with whomever you want. Just keep in mind, you’re likely to only drag someone else into your mess. Make her a target of the Van Tessins. That’s pretty fucking selfish if you ask me.”

“Well I did not ask you really, but you’d tell me regardless. But would one night stands be okay with you boss? Or is that off the table now too?” he grinned.

“Do whatever the fuck you want Grayson. I don’t care. We aren’t together anymore.”

“Oh really? So you wouldn’t care at all if I kissed Cori right now?” he challenged.

He was still grinning at Amber as he started swaggering towards Cori. He was just fucking bluffing. He wasn’t going to kiss that girl who had a boyfriend. Not without her permission and she wouldn’t give him permission to kiss her. Probably wouldn’t. Fuck!

“You’re bluffing. And no. You can kiss who you fucking want.”

“Is that so?”

Cori turned around at Grayson’s approach. She gave him a sweet smile. Grayson’s gave her one in return that slayed hearts. It even made Amber’s quiver in her chest. Who the fuck would say no to a smile like that?
