Houston in September - Chapter Nine Up!
Hello once again,
Glad you stopped by, I hope this update finds you well. The ninth chapter came together this morning, although the dialogue is formal, clunky and moves along like a big ol' concrete brick.
If you happen to read it now, what you'll see is a roughed out dialogue, or the barebones that I will use to build a story around. I'm still a novice writer in many aspects, so I'm still finding my writing groove, and I've found this way seems to work pretty well.
A few months back I had a Masterclass subscription and had the privilege of watching two really informative classes put on by Neil Gaiman and James Patterson. In these classes, they outlined how they came up with ideas, the number of times they rewrote a draft, and how they could follow a story from start to finish to see if it were even a viable story.
I learned a lot, and now I'm putting that into practice on the page right before your eyes. I was always a bookworm and a good 'writer' per se, but having done these courses, and the continued process of writing over the last few years, I think I've improved.
More updates to come, the book is fully drafted, so I even know the ending. Gah, it was so good I cried. Then I dried my tears and said. What the hell Sharon? You just gave yourself a happy ending!
Cheers,
Sharon
p.s. I used to say bah, write real to life romance, make it more real, but the two romances I read that lacked the happy ending, I was so ticked at. I'll never write a book without a happy ending now. We all deserve them.
Stay safe, stay warm, hug the people you can.
