Show Your Profile Some Love
Setting up your profile is easy to do and most of the images like your profile pic will automatically fill in if you sign up through Google or Facebook, but don't just leave it there. Your Profile is the real estate Booknet gives you to self promote you, your works, and your social media. It is your business or calling card so to speak.
This is also your reader's first impression so why not make certain it's a good one.
FEATURES YOU SHOULD USE
PROFILE PIC:
Now many of you may not like the idea of using an actual picture of what you look like for your profile but I ask you what does every author do with the back of their book, in their book, or on the dust cover sleeve but add a photo and a short bio. This is your place to do that.
As authors, it's sometimes hard to get over our shyness and push ourselves forward but part of being an author is coming out of that shell and letting the world see you. If that is not something you're ready for or your younger and wisely chose not to show your age then I have another suggestion for you.
Make your profile pic something about who you are as a writer. Try to pick an image that is recognizable and clear so that you can easily stand out.
Now I know the picture will fill in from signing up with the certain media offered but you can change your profile picture by clicking on your Profile Name and selecting Edit Profile. There you will see that you can upload an image. So you can change the image if you like.
Profile Image Size: The ideal size is 360 x 360 pixels... the minimum should be 180 x 180 pixels. Now, remember the Profile Pic is a circle, not a square so some of the image is bound to get cut off, but it's minimal what you will lose.

BACKGROUND PICTURE:
Again another great way to show a little more about you. If you are an established writer, think of this space as a billboard for advertising your current works. Perhaps you are building a brand across your social media so this background image should match your other background banners.
If you're new to writing try selecting an image that will let your readers know the sort of genre you like to write in or make a background with your favorite author's quote.
Again this is just another way to show your readers a little something about you, your works and/or your personality.
It's also a useful space for advertising something new... a new book... Coming Soon... that sort of thing.
Background Image Size: 960 x 152 pixels
Keep in mind if you are creating your own background that your Profile Pic will cover over the left-hand side of your pic so try not to place anything important in that part of your image.
For Example:
The blank space on the left is because I know this is where my Profile Pic for Booknet Authors will be and if I started the words all the way over on the left you wouldn't be able to read them. The space at the bottom of the words is left intentionally also as that is where the Author's name appears.

ABOUT MYSELF:
This part should never be left blank. This space is for your 30-second elevator pitch. Don't know what that means. It means picture yourself on an elevator and someone asks what you do for a living and you say, of course, I'm a writer. The next question you will receive will inevitably be one of the following.
1. What kind of books do you write?
2. How long have you been a writer?
3. Have you published anything?
These are the questions you should answer in your ABOUT MYSELF section. You can also add little tidbits like I'm a huge anime fan, adore puppies and if I were to die suddenly I would hope it was the result of Death by Chocolate.
Have fun with this section. Don't be afraid to show off a little if you have any accomplishments and don't be afraid to thank your readers for their interest in you or to please show their support of your writings by LIKING, COMMENTING, and SAVING your books to their libraries. This is a perfectly acceptable space to do this in without the worry of looking needy or appearing rude.

SOCIAL MEDIA LINKS:
This is one of my absolute favorite parts of the Booknet Profile. Here you can add links to all your social media sites and your readers will get immediate access to you. So be certain to fill them in if you have them.
PERSONAL WEBSITE

VK GROUP
FACEBOOK PROFILE

WATTPAD
So this takes care of establishing your profile on Booknet. These things may seem insignificant but they really can help you in the long run. Showing the pride you have in yourself and in your work will immediately transfer to your readers. Showing that you're serious about your craft will have your readers taking your work more seriously too. Hope this was helpful. I will have more tips for you soon.
HUGS,
