Route 66

I wrote a lot today, but route 66 is a bit of a pet project of mine. As I've mentioned before I started writing only very recently. 

Route 66 was a piece of work that was born during a writing sprint. We were to sit down and write for 30 minutes, come up with 500 words from a picture prompt. For some odd reason, the picture had large cacti in it, and a horizon type detail which made me think of Arizona, and in turn maybe Route 66 (I didn't even really know if Arizona was on the same line!) So I had to research that. 

Anyhow, the gluing to the carpet came from an old news article I'd seen, or maybe it was an urban legend of how a couple of cheaters had been found glued to the shag carpet, and I thought, well I wonder what led up to that. 

Then, as I continued writing, the ending surprised me, cause Frank and Elaine hit it off and decided to go into business together. I'm kind of wondering what other types of well deserved, not necessarily over violent things they'll get up to. 

As I type this, I was thinking, I should go check the annals of the internet and see what other gems I could find. 

p.s. clearly I don't condone violence, nor would I glue my lover to a floor - well, maybe not LOL (I joke! That's assault!)
