Take Me, Melinoe Update (chapter 14 - Dr. James)

Excerpt from Chapter 14:

Melinoe's point of view~

"What if you got ambushed again? Your powerful but it's not enough if they help each other to gang on you."

"Are you belittling my power?"

"Enough of your pride, Melinoe. You may be lucky to get through with dangers as a stubborn girl. But you're still too young. Two thousand years is not enough to be fully equipped to fight the elder demons."

I turned off my fire and crossed my legs. I already know what George is trying to tell me. I know to myself that I'm still not strong enough to defeat legions of my same kind. I did left this house a while ago just to save Chris, and nothing more.

"Rabia went outside to look for you but she instead let a young lady in just before you came. And that lady replaced your position on the bed."

A young lady?

I came up to the thought that it might be the young lady which supposed to be offered by the witches a while ago. It reminded me of the sudden wipe out of the fire lights at their place and the rapid escape of that lady. Is Rabia responsible for what happened?

"It's fine. I'm alright now." I simply answered.

Rabia descended here in her living area and saw Chris lying on her sofa. But she seemed not so surprised.

"We're sorry for letting him in. This is our friend and we just found him battered on the street. He might be beaten up by some gangsters out there. We'll go immediately if our injuries got healed." George lyingly explained.

"Nothing to worry about. I'm glad that you're all here again. But your friend, seems like he's badly.. sick. He needs.. a more intensive treatment. I might recommend you a doctor from our hospital."

If she's a supernatural being like us, she might knew Chris's condition and she might also be unable to heal him immediately that is why she's recommending a doctor. Well, he could only be cured if that doctor is a powerful transcendent from above or something more.

Rabia looked at me, so we started a 'get-to-know-deeply' stare with each other. She saved the young lady so I guess she had seen me at the witches' village a while ago. What does she knows about me now? Does she already knew that I am a demon? I hope not.

I could see at my peripheral vision that George is repeatedly looking at the both us, moving his head back and forth from each side.

I felt myself getting weaker as I look at her eyes. I wanna know what kind of entity she is but it seems like she's devouring my energy so I immediately take away my sight from her. Damn! She's powerful!

She looked at George and smiled.

"I'll call Dr. James now for you to have an appointment with him tomorrow here in my house for your friend. I'll go ahead."
