Beauty and the Beast Contest Results!

Guys...

Alpha Charming won 2nd place in the Beauty and the Beast contest! I'm so happy I'm shaking like a chihuahua!

But it is you wonderful readers I want to thank for this accomplishment - if not for your reads, votes, comments, and support, I wouldn't have made it this far. You are truly wonderful, otherworldly, and downright kick-ass!

And now, here are a few 'behind the scenes' facts about Alpha Charming to celebrate this victory: 

Unlike most books that require weeks and months of planning, Alpha Charming was planned out in just two days - mainly because I stumbled upon the contest three weeks before it ended. The plot and characters were all thought out in less than 48 hours. 

Minus the two days spent on planning, I started and finished the book in exactly three weeks. I spent every hour of the day writing, sometimes completing two chapters, sometimes one, or somedays only a half. Near the end of the book, I was hit by writer's block and almost didn't finish it. But thanks to the right Spotify playlist, a few Scottish pub songs, coffee, and support from loved ones, I pushed through. 

Speaking of loved ones, I want to give special thanks to my other half and boyfriend of four years, Marcel. I've neglected him greatly while writing the book and all the while he remained patient and supportive. I love him with all my heart and butt (because my butt's bigger than my heart) and don't know what I would do without him. 

Fun fact; I wrote the last two chapters of Alpha Charming on the bank of a river during a weekend fishing trip with my family. While everyone was playing board games, fishing, or eating cake, I was writing like there was no tomorrow. Also, there wasn't any signal and Marcel and I had to walk all the way uphill so he could catch a signal to give me a hotspot. Fun. 

Last but not least, Alpha Charming is my first original book since I've only written fanfictions in the past. And if it ever makes it far enough to be adapted to film, Grace VanderWaal's song Moonlight will be the credits song.
