"Come on Adele, you have been in the country for three years, you were bound to meet him sooner than later and it happened later, so what do you mean it's so soon."  My mind taunted, making me look silly. The elevator opened and I nearly stepped out, but I realized we were not on the grand floor.  A petite lady stepped in. She looked tired and sleepy, yet she had a lovely smile on her face when she saw me. 

"Hello, I am Nessa." She said bubbly. Her smile and voice were contagious. It instantly made me smile.

"Hi Nessa, I am Adele."

"Yeah, I know. Mr. Mahone's favorite P.A."

"What? Favorite?"

"Yes, aren't you? Everyone here knows that."

"No, I think you are misunderstanding things. I am just his P.A"

Listen, the boss likes you. I have worked here for five years to know that he doesn't tolerate absenteeism. But you went away for a week and when you came back, he didn't fire you."
