Tony Spencer

Hi, just to introduce myself. I write what I consider character-driven stories across a range of genres, including contemporary, historical, humour and fantasy. I like to try different genres to both hone and challenge my skills. I'm not a trained writer, I did the minimum schooling before working as a typesetter, so got into literature as a reader. Although I started my first magazine age 11 and stopped around 14, I've always made up stories in my head. I fell back into writing about 5 years before I retired, thinking it would give me something to keep my mind active, I even started editing a free local magazine covering my town, but that folded after 2 years through lack of literary contributors but I keep the FB page going with snippets of local history stories plus old and new photos.

I have uploaded a few stories on here, a couple of shorts and a novella or two, let me know what you think.
