A few days passed and for some reason, Mel was feeling a certain discomfort. She’s not sure what it was. She was lazing in her room, when she decided to check her old email. It’s been months since she last opened it. She created a new one for work purposes, looking a bit more professional. She also abandoned her old phone number and has been using another. Anyway, there’s still social media where she remains in contact with her former classmates. She rarely checks in with their group chats and groups, though. Her username was also cringe-inducing. She never disclosed it to her co-workers. She hasn’t figured out yet how to change it to her name.

The usual newsletters appeared on her screen. Huh, she used to subscribe to a lot of those. Even her primary tab is filled with them. She browsed without much thought until something caught her eye. An email marked as important. The sender’s name was familiar but she couldn’t exactly recall who it was. When she clicked on it and read the contents, her heart began to race and her eyes widened. Oh, shit. What date is it?
