Trying something new with Blood Doll
As a writer, I have a tough time writing. I need to write, ruminate, twiddle, draw outlines on a page to mind map, and so on. I need to sacrifice some gummy bears to gnashing teeth and drink more coffee than Juan Valdez can pick coffee beans for. If you get that reference, you, my friend, are my ideal reader.
I'm not kidding about the gummy bears. I typically bite their heads off :| (grim reaper gummy bear, sorry, not sorry)
I've decided to try something simpler with Blood Doll. I write too slowly, and much of my writing is moo stuffy. I am an old lady, and I write like one. I love using words tn my vocabulary, but as one author said ,she has to write to the language her audience uses.
I forget words sometimes. There are specific words in the English language where you can use one to replace three or four. My mother was a wonderful woman who directed me to the dictionary when asked how to spell a word or what it meant As a result, I learned many words and definitions. It pains me when I forget them.
What will happen is the draft will be very messy and ugly. There may even only be one sentence to move a scene forward. I don't know what will come next because I'm just typing words and discovering where they might be placed.
I also have zero outlines, and I should try to produce one of those too. Feel free to drop some lines on my page.
Also, ask me if you read things that don't seem right dramatically. If I don't know, I can look it up and learn something too. If you have questions about how something might be worded in my work or your own and are looking for suggestions, please ask. I love to help others. If I can help, I will.
That's all for now. Here's to being less stuffy.
