The Secrets Hidden In The Scars: Chapter 7
Hey, everybody! I've just updated my book "The Secrets Hidden In The Scars" with Chapter 7. I continue to experiment with the time to publish new chapters. So, today, I decided to schedule it for the morning. This chapter is not too long, but the next, the eighth chapter is going to be much longer. And then there will be a few more short (comparing with those that are going to be published soon) ones, and then they will be much longer and tell much more about the story of my characters. But... We will talk about it somehow later. :)
Anyway, I would be madly happy if you liked this book, added it to your library and told me what you think of the storyline and the characters' actions. I hope you would't lose your interest for my book and would read it until the very end. My English is not perfect, but I'm doing my best to make my texts more or less readable. I didn't originally use a song for this chapter name, so, there won't be a suggestion of music to listen to while reading this piece.
And here's a little snippet (chapters are separated in a few parts; so, this piece is going to be in the part that will be automatically published tomorrow):
“Hey, why do you think your father was beating your mother?” Raquelle asks hesitantly, keeping a hand on Terrence’s knee. “You said you were never a witness of their conflicts!”
“But I became a witness of Father slapping Mother in the face,” Terrence notices, still stroking Raquelle’s hair. “And I still clearly remember that.”
“But how could you remember what happened when you were two or three? I don’t remember anything that happened to me at that age. My memories are more or less clear since five or six. But I remember much only thanks to some flashbacks…”
“I also barely remember my childhood, but I kept that memory very well. I’d hardly remember, for example, Father and me waiting for the news about Mother, who should’ve given birth to Edward. How I calmed him down when he was worried.”
“Don’t you remember yourself living with the little Edward?” Raquelle turns onto her back, still letting her head lie on Terrence’s laps, but seeing his face now. “How your mother found out she was expecting him… When she was pregnant…”
“No, I don’t remember… That’s why I couldn’t even guess I had a brother, who Father took away with him when he left Mother and me. I can’t say where Edward was on the day of our parents’ fight, but he said he spent much time with Grandmother on the father. Maybe, he was with her, maybe he was in another room… I dunno…”
“But you remember your father because you recognized him in the photo Edward showed you.”
“Yeah, I remember Father and recognized him easily. Maybe, he got older and doesn’t look as young as he does in the photo, but I think there’s no difference. I’d definitely recognize him if he showed up in front of me.”
“Are you so sure he was beating your mother? How could you know it?”
“Erm…” Terrence thinks for a few seconds. “I was just told…”
“Told?”
“Yup. I was too young when it happened.”
Have a good day!
Love, Estrella Rose.
