New Story- August

Coming sometime

He said I was his angel, and I believed with. He said he would be my redemption. I trusted him. With the promises of a thousand rainbows, he entered my life. He told me I was his glass doll, and I molded myself into the shape he asked for. Maybe that is why he dropped me. Perhaps I should’ve listened to him, but alas! God laughed at me; I was deaf.

I was a glass figurine, perfect to the eye, fragile underneath. He took the opportunity and dropped me. Using his words as weapons, he ground me to the finest of dust. I was glassy yet vulnerable to any gust. I still feel pain, so much raw pain, but I can't be broken anymore. He did his worst, but I am still here, sparkling in the midwinter light.

“Oh! Lover, how far will your revenge go?” I asked. “As long as it takes to bleed you to death,” he responded. But little did he know, the blood he bled was his.

August Lark was born deaf. The ghosts of her father’s past hunted her down.

She thought she met her perfect forever when she married Alexander Knight. She was hopelessly in love with him. Her perfect illusion crumbled like a pack of cards when he revealed the truth. Her marital bed turned into her grave, burying her 6 feet under. The flames of his revenge burned her alive until he had no skin to charr. How far will his revenge go? Will he succeed in his revenge? Or will she make him realize his mistakes?

He pushed her to the limit until she couldn’t take it, forgetting that the devil sits down when a woman takes revenge.

“How could you?” August seethed. “Speak,” she clutched his collar.

Alexander shook her off him, “go ask your father, oh that’s right, you cannot hear even if he told you the truth,” he signaled.  

“Because you are fucking deaf. Nobody wants you, August. Nobody fucking does. You were trash, a deaf one too. I picked you up. I am the poison your father created; I have no cure. I am chaos. I will steal your peace. There is nowhere to run, August. I will hunt you down,” and that’s how her story began, or should we say ended?
