Hiya, everyone! We’ve already on Chapter 39 from my book "The Secrets Hidden In The Scars" that is available now. I silently call this chapter a family one because 80% of all the events have to do with those, who are relatives to each other. By the way, I originally planned to add some events much later – somewhere in the end of the last book (I used to think it would be the fourth one). But as you can see, I changed my mind. And yeah, we’re super close to the final – I only need to publish four more chapters. I will be trying to pretend to be a genius humorist with the hope of making someone laugh (even if I’m super bad at jokes), add a couple of love moments, and just end this story beautifully, which turned out much longer than I thought. Alas, brevity is not my friend.

Anyway, I'd be madly happy if you liked this book, added it to your library and told me what you think of the storyline and the characters' actions. I hope you would't lose your interest for my book and would read it until the very end. My English is not perfect, but I'm doing my best to make my texts more or less readable.

By the way, you might not have seen it, but I changed the covers for all my works. That's funny that every time I'm going to end a book, I always want to change covers for all my works. And then I have to change the design of everything on all my accounts. And now, when I'm about to publish the last chapter of "The Secrets Hidden In The Scars", I got a wish to update them. I've lately been obsessed with creating pictures via AI and improved some that I had before. You can see the result in this post. Of course, I had to get rid of many pictures because I'm still trying to figure out how to generate portraits with normal eyes, not some blurred and weird ones. Anyway, I really like what I got in the end. Alongside, I've also updated the design of all my accounts. I made a more beautiful picture from the one I had before and slightly edited it (sorry, I'm not a lord of Photoshop). I'm really happy with the result and hope you will like it, too.

And lastly, I’m leaving a short snippet from the new chapter:

“I know I did a terrible thing. But I was doing all of that to get attention on me that I had always lacked.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Yes, Daddy…” Edward raises his head up. “It wouldn’t have happened if you’d loved me just a little and given me attention. Not kicked like a ball. Insulted, humiliated… You didn’t think of what I wanted, what I felt, what I needed… You never cared about me!”

“So, am I guilty that you got these problems and fought with your family?”

“If I’d gotten a little bit of attention, I wouldn’t have tried to get attention in such a radical way. I didn’t care what kind of attention that would be: swearing or praising! I just wanted to let know I did exist. That I’m not a shadow. Not a ghost. That I’m the same human as all of us! That I needed love, care, attention, and talks. Simple heart-to-heart talks. You didn’t even give it to me. You literally pissed me off!”

Edward shakes his head slightly.

“And after all of that, are you surprised I did it? I would not have meddled in that case! Because I had always been terribly cowardly and insecure. But I had to hide it! Pretended to be a brave hero that was ready to save his family with the hope that he would hear at least one good word!”

“Gosh, Edward!” Rebecca gets horrified. “How do you dare to talk to your father like this?”

“Stop, Rebecca,” Jamie raises a hand. “Let him speak.”

“You know that you’re guilty of the fact that I became the one,” Edward raises his voice full of despair. “I was hoping you’d pay attention to me for so many years. Just one freaking time. But you never cared. Absolutely. You cared about anyone but me. I was always your burden! The child that reminded you of all the sins of your past. I wish I spent those years in an orphan house. They would’ve given me much more attention than my own father. Who kind of did a noble thing by taking one of the children from my mother.”
