Ethel Riverwood is a trainee in FBI who is trying to build a reputation for herself. But when she comes across a notorious killer Archeron Knight, he becomes intrigued by her. First time in forever he delivers a clue of himself to the FBI office taunting them he will let them catch him if Ethel takes over his case. Ethel finds herself drawn into a twisted game of cat and mouse. 

Archeron is always one step ahead, taunting her with cryptic messages and leaving clues that lead her closer to him. He describes her as the only person able to understand him. He knows her every step, every movement. End of every day, she receives a video of herself and her daily activities without a fail., with gifts attached to it. 

As their paths continue to cross, Ethel can't deny the dangerous attraction she feels for the charming but deadly serial killer. A dark romance blossoms, and Ethel finds herself torn between her loyalty to the humanity and her growing feelings for Archeron. In a dangerous and thrilling chase across the country, Ethel must decipher Archeron's cryptic messages and unravel the truth about her own past in order to finally bring him to justice. But as she gets closer to Archeron, she realizes that the line between right and wrong is blurred, and the truth is more dangerous than she ever could have imagined.
