Yea, this is happening to me too. Unfortunately, it's happened to the one story I'm most proud of, so it's a nice little kick in the gut. So, I was thinking the same thing, along the lines of "is my story really that bad" or "maybe I should I just leave because no one is reading it". Definitely hits ya right in the self-confidence.

The most popular genre on the site is Romance, so any authors not writing in that genre seem to be struggling more. It's been difficult for a variety of authors to gain readers because the LitNet algorithm skews in a specific direction and anyone not in that direction is kinda left behind. I hope this doesn't come across as complaining more than as an observation. I don't think it's the quality of your story more than just what LitNet is promoting.

I'm gonna give Romance a shot, see what happens, and compare reads with my other stories, kinda like a social experiment. In the meantime, I would even consider expanding to other sites and seeing if your story gains more traction there.

Also, the 18+ label is a crippling addition. My readers go AWOL when I turn it on and then come back when it's off. So...idk if that's part of it too.

This happens to me to from time to time.
I say continue and finish the story and who wants to read it can do so when they got time.
