The Writers Club FAQ

1. What is The Writers Club?

The Writers Club is an exclusive Facebook Group for Booknet Authors only. Where writers from Booknet can talk, meet, chat, and discuss our current, ongoing, and/or new projects with our fellow authors. You can ask for advice or help and you're bound to get some great feedback from the group.

2. Can I be a Reader and join?

This group is for writers only. We do however have content about all the authors and their stories available on the main page Booknet Authors that you can Follow and Like if you are interested as a reader to learn more about the writers here on Booknet.

4. I'm thinking of joining Booknet and writing can I join The Writers Club first?

No, you need to have a Booknet profile name, and a book posted to be considered.

3. I'm an author and have a profile but I haven't posted any books yet, can I still join?

Once you post your story you can join. It does not have to be a complete story but in order for you to be considered a Booknet Author and for The Writers Club you have to have content to offer for the readers of Booknet to read.

4. Why is it a closed group?

We have made it a closed group to give our writers a safe place they can meet, chat, and discuss their ideas in private. What is said in the club stays in the club.

5. What benefit is there to join?

You mean besides all the really cool writers you will meet? Well from our members we will select twice a month a writer to interview for our Authors Spotlight, which you can only be eligible for if you are a member of the club. We also have the Book Nook where we choose among our members a book that will be reviewed and discussed by your peers once a week.

6. Can I promote my books in the club?

You can not make any spamming or self-promoting posts in the club. It's not what the club is meant for. It's a place to meet, chat and grow as writers. We will have special posts on the main page every Tuesday and Thursday for the purpose of promoting your works.

7. What do you consider a spamming or self-promoting posts?

Any post created for the sole purpose of asking for reads, likes or reviews of your book.

8. How do you join?

You can join in 1 of 2 ways. 1 you can request to join or 2 we can invite you after you like and follow the Booknet Authors page.

9. I've requested to join but I was declined, why?

We ask a set of questions before we let you in that must be answered. If they are not answered your request may be denied. (Are you Booknet author? What is your profile name on Booknet? And is there a topic you would like to see discussed in the group?) You must also agree with our rules of the club.

10. I didn't get any questions when I requested, can I still join?

We will message you if you did not respond to the questions. However without being able to verify you are in fact a Booknet author we may be forced to decline your request. So be sure to check your messages.

11. I liked and followed the Facebook page but I didn't get invited to join, why?

There is sometimes a glitch with Facebook where it may take a few hours or even a day for your name to show up so we can invite you. Please be patient as we will invite you when your name appears on our list.

12. What if it's been more than a day?

Contact Booknet Authors through messenger and our Admin will help you join in a different way.

13. What if I feel like I was turned down unfairly as I really am a Booknet author?

If you really are a Booknet author please messenger Booknet Authors and let us know your profile name. As long as you have a profile with a book published you will be able to join.

14. I've followed your profile here on Booknet can I join The Writers Group on Facebook?

We appreciate you following our profile here on Booknet but to be considered for The Writers Club you will need to like and follow the page Booknet Authors on Facebook.

15. What are the rules of the group?

1 - Be Kind and Courteous

We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required. Disrespect will not be tolerated in any language

2 - No Hate Speech or Bullying

Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, trolling, degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

3 - No Promotions or Spam

Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam, and irrelevant links aren't allowed.

4 - Respect Everyone's Privacy

Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group should stay in the group.

5 - Breaking the Above Rules

Breaking any of the above rules will cause an immediate expulsion from the group. Let's create an environment where we can thrive as writers and do our best to follow the rules.
