January - Booknet Authors Newsletter
JANUARY
It a new year and many things have happened since we started our writer's community on Facebook, Booknet Authors. Our page has nearly 800 followers and our writer's group is now over 60 members strong who enjoy participating in The Writers Club.
If you don't know what Booknet Authors or The Writers Club are I would like to direct you to our profile here on the site. https://litnet.com/booknet-authors-u3280853
This will bring you to the Booknet Authors Profile page where you can find out who we are and what we do. I suggest starting with...
https://litnet.com/book/what-is-booknet-authors-and-the-writers-club-b163548
This is a guide that will tell you about our Facebook page @booknetAuthors https://www.facebook.com/booknetAuthors where you can learn more about, the authors you love or how to become one. It also talks about how to join The Writer's Club, our exclusive group for Booknet authors only and what benefits there are to joining.
For Example:
Authors from our group are chosen 2 every month to be interviewed allowing them to get exposure as an author, on Facebook and the interview is archived here on the site in The Authors Spotlight.
https://litnet.com/book/authors-spotlight-b162217
Also, every Monday a book is chosen by our Moderators to be critiqued. The first 5 chapters are read and reviewed by their fellow authors. The author is given a Booknet reward to participate and respond to the reviews when they are posted on Saturday and Sunday in The Writers Club.
And the reviews are archived on the Booknet Authors Profile in the Book Nook.

We are currently working on expanding our collection of books to include tips on How To Be A Success on Booknet, Writing Tips, and Prompts to inspire you to write your own stories or hone your writing craft. I apologize as these are at this moment slow going but I hope to be adding to this series next month.
We held our first-ever contest here on Booknet that just ended on January 20th for a fantasy short story contest. Our Winners were Brad Emshwiller and Roza Csergo with Runner up - simion1982.
So many wonderful stories joined in the competition. It was a tough choice to make. To see a complete list of stories that participated go to:
ONCE UPON A TIME CONTEST https://litnet.com/en/contests/once-upon-a-time-c83
This event went amazingly well, with over 40 stories, 28 making it into the finals. Booknet had gained many new writers which we are always pleased to see, and we hope to make this an annual event. So follow the profile and/or the Facebook page to get the latest news so you don't miss out on the next one.
To read our winners' stories:
Grim by Brad Emshwiller - https://litnet.com/en/book/grim-b170143
A Royal Gift by Roza Csergo- https://litnet.com/en/book/a-royal-gift-b166690
If you are a reader we hope you will stop by our profile to learn more about the books and stories from The Writers Club and if you are a writer we hope you will join our writer's community, where you will have a safe place to talk and chat about all things writing.
Until Next Time,
Booknet Authors
