Its vs It's - Grammar Tip
Hello fellow writers,
I hope you guys are doing alright. This is another Weekly Grammar Tip to help you improve your writing.
ITS vs IT'S
- Its is a possessive determiner we use to say that something belongs to or refers to something.
Examples:
The dog lost its hearing. Its walls are moldy. Don't judge a book by its cover.
It's wheel fell off. =INCORRECT (Its wheel fell off.)
- It's is a contraction of “it is” or “it has.”
Examples:
It's (it+is) a sunny day. I wonder if it's (it+is) allowed to sit.
It's been (it+has+been) a long long time. It's been weeks since her last update.
Its Laura's birthday = INCORRECT (It's Laura's birthday)
It's just a small change, but it will improve the quality of your prose a lot.

Emma Swan, Thank you kindly.
Thank you so much for taking the time to address these issues. Tbh this is one of my many confusions
You're welcome. It's easy to confuse these, especially if English isn't your first language.
This is one of my carelessness.:-)
I believe we all make it. ♥
