She was happy today because of Three things 
1st.she was going to graduate and 
2nd. She is going to propose the love of her life. Her Matteo In the college party
3rd.It was her birthday. 

Reaching the party with a small box in which a promise ring and a note was there she entered inside the hall with a charming smile. 

But her smile faded when she saw Matteo with another girl not any girl but the Queen Bee of the college. Marina The bitch. 

They were talking and laughing when suddenly Matteo grabbed Marina by her nape of the neck and smashed his lips on hers. 

Riya's breath got  stuck in her throat. Tears dwelling her eyes. 

She clenched her fist in fury and walked towards them pushing them both away from each other. 

Suddenly Marina shouted"what the fuck" But when she Looked at Riya a smirk appeared on her face while Matteo looked at her with a mischievous glint in his eyes. 

"Why did you do that Matt" She asked in a broken voice. 
He smirked walking towards her. The whole college watching the drama with drinks in there hands. 

"Because you were just a bet" He said and shrugged casually. 
She felt her heart beat stop and the box which she held behind her fell from her hand. 

A tear roll down her eye.
She asked again"why? I never did anything wrong to you. Then why? "

He laughed and said" You think I will ever love a clingy girl like you. Just look at you. You are ugly and not even my type"he looked at her disgustingly. 

Some people laughed while some had pity for her. 

She chuckled bitterly and looked at him while he looked at her confused as to why she was chuckling. 

Silence surrounded the hall before she spoke. 
"You really gave me an amazing birthday gift Matteo".
His eyes widened as he totally forgot about her birthday but it was too late. She ran out of the hall pushing past by the people. Getting out she broke into sobs and tears. 

Her driver saw her and she asked him to take her home. 

Inside the hall

Matteo stood frozen at his place. His eyes went to the path from where she went out and then at the box lying on the ground. 
Kneeling down he picked up the box and opened it. After looking what was in the box he realised he did a big mistake

The box had a ring and note which spoke

"Can I keep you and never let you go Matt? Will you be mine for the rest of your life"

But the mistake was done and now it was late. Too late
