Updating Schedule - Please Read!

Hello, everybody!

I hope everyone is having a great day/night so far.

Recently, I’ve received a comment on one of my new books saying the reader likes the story, but my updates are delayed. By the time I update the next chapter in two days, they’ve already forgotten what happened in the last.

Now, I completely understand that dilemma. I would also be frustrated if I’m reading an awesome ongoing book but have to wait more than a day for the next update.

But here is my part of the story:

I’m going to be honest with you and just throw it out there that I want my books to qualify for bookscription as soon as possible. And there’s nothing wrong with that as we authors work hard and spend long hours and many weeks writing and editing. It’s only fair that we would like to see our books compensate for the the time we spent writing them.

But to qualify for bookscription, we have to have at least 100 regular readers on a book, the book shouldn’t contain more than a specific number of characters (200K to be precise), and it should be on sale for at last 30 days.

In other words, I need to plan my updates ahead and very carefully if I want to qualify for bookscription. Otherwise, with too many updates a week, the book will exceed the maximum character count and I won’t qualify anymore.

I hope this all makes sense.

Now, off to my schedule.

As I work a full time, 10-hour job, I don’t have much time for writing and updating in between. My regular schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I feel 3 chapters a week is enough, as I don’t want to exceed my character count before applying for bookscription.

However, I also understand that if the book is new, everyone is curious and excited to know more of what will happen, and will feel that my updates are slow or delayed.

So, this is what we’re going to do…

I will update 4 times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.) There will still be one day waiting period between updates, but at least it will be one more chapter per week.

I hope this compromise helps and that everyone understands why I can’t update as much as I like.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day/night!
