The princess looked at me, confused.
“But I am not trying to be. I have lost everything. Being better than your father is not something I care about. I care about destroying him.”
The princess just looked at me, so stunned.
“Your father turned me into this. A monster, and a monster, does not care about being better.”
“Please… don’t do this.”
“It’s already done. Enjoy your time here, princess,” I just said and turned away, done with the conversation. I left her room, but right before I closed the door, I heard a small sob. The sound, for some reason, made my heart twist in pain. That was strange… it had not done that in so long. What was wrong with me?
