What are the promo codes for?

Promo codes give the commercial authors an opportunity to promote their books outside of the platform.

When an author conducts a giveaway, they should set a number of conditions for readers to participate.

One of the obligatory conditions is to ask your readers to share the post on their social media and tag their friends.

What is it for?

When your readers share the post with their friends on Facebook, due to the algorithm of this social media your post automatically gets more visibility on the newsfeed and in this way reaches more people. If you add a link to the post, your book will get more chances to reach more potential readers. The friends of your friends might notice the giveaway post and check out your book on Booknet. More readers mean more sales. Make use of the giveaways to increase the number of sales.

How to conduct a giveaway?

Create a post on your social media. We recommend using Facebook, as this social media permits you to add a link to your book to the post. You may also use Instagram and ask your readers to share the post in their stories and add a link to your book to them.

The post should include a banner (an attractive and eye-catching image that contains the title of your book and the pen name of the author, you may add some eye-catching text to it), a brief annotation of the story, and a link to the book. You may use the Affiliate link to get money from every purchase the user that clicks your link makes on Booknet.

Add the conditions to participate. 

The obligatory conditions should be:

1. Share the post on their social media.

2. Tag their friends in the comments.

Make sure to ask your readers to use only real social media pages. If you give the code to a person that created their page only to participate in the giveaways and has 0 or few followers, your book won't be promoted successfully and the giveaway won't bring new readers and buyers for your book.

Note that it is not permitted to announce giveaways in Booknet blogs, but you may add a direct link to your social media post to the blog.

How to give the promo codes to the winners?

You may send the promo codes directly to the winners in a message on social media.

Where to find the promo codes?

You will be able to generate the promo codes on the desktop version of Booknet by going to the book's page and pressing Edit. Then go to Options, scroll down the page and choose Promo codes. Then you will press the green button to Generate promocodes. Below you will see the promo codes that look like a number of letters and numbers. You will copy them and paste them to your readers.

Note that you receive 5 promo codes from the start of the sale of a completed book or a bookscription. Once you generate them, the promo codes are active for a month. After you use all the 5 promo codes, you will receive 1 code for every 10 purchases that users make in 15 days. The maximum number of promo codes you can receive is 5. That's why even if you sell 70 books in the last 15 days, you won't receive more than 5 promo codes.

You may also use the promo codes to collaborate with different Facebook or Instagram books that may raffle your codes in their communities.

Make sure not to give promo codes to users without setting any conditions, otherwise, the ability to generate promo codes may be disabled.
