Every hundred years, a new vampire king is crowned and hosts a kingdom-wide ball where he is to choose a mortal woman to sire an heir. It is enforced of each noble family to send one of their daughters to attend the ball. 
After her father’s death, Elle became a maid to her cruel stepmother and stepsisters. But when word of the upcoming ball reaches the ears of Clandestine family, Lady Clandestine forms a plan that will keep her daughters out of the clutches of the vampire king: send Elle in their place, disguised as a noble.
Because what are the chances that the vampire king will choose her? And if he does, he will never know she is but a common maid. However, if he finds out…the punishment will be deadly.
