I see myself as a modern-day bard: artisan, poet, geek and over all jack-of-all trades. To make my transition easier into writing, I love science fiction, fantasy and romance. I tend to include a lot of LGBTQ+ issues and characters in my books. Recently I've started converting my existing novels to the new world model my son, and I have been working on. 

As a transgender woman, I get fairly involved with queer topics. I skip in and out of the community - as I am more an educator and speaker than an activist. The first book I've published here is close to my heart - as the main character is effectively myself transitioning in her teens - rather than later on with life. The many hardships that Rose mentions she's experienced were mostly mine, so some chapters were hard to write due to bringing up painful memories.
